The paints in this set were used for the first time to make this painting.
These paints are more than 80 years old.
They were stored in a basement in pre-war Poland and survived decades of being in an attic unused.
This set was given to me by good friend, Lori Meeker, and it took me awhile to sit with them and marvel at how they were here before me waiting for water from a brush.
Carefully I used each color to see how it moved and blended.
This was their first voyage ever after being locked away in the dark for the span of a human life. Here is the story of how they were discovered and made into these wonderful rare sets.
If you'd like to get your own set, find it here at A Large Aviary.
As I worked with these colors, I thought about how it's never too late.
Wanna do a thing?
Do what you can to make it happen, and start.
Maybe it'll get derailed or change or not happen, but you'll have fun working on it.
